On 13th November, EWTCA together with VGTU (Lithuania) organized BSR TransGovernance project’s WP5 stakeholders workshop.

Main aim of the project – demonstrate how multi-level governance models, tools and approaches can contribute to a better alignment of transport policies in the Baltic Sea Region at various administrative levels and a better incorporation of the business perspective.  This is expected to increase commitment of public and private stakeholders to achieving greener and more efficient transport in the Baltic Sea Region, in line with PA 11 of the EU Baltic Sea Strategy. EWTCA is a WP5 leader with the main aim  – to demonstrate how multi-level governance models could facilitate policies and freight management in multimodal transport corridors connecting EU with non EU countries.

During the workshop EWTCA President Dr.Algirdas Šakalys and VGTU Vice-rector prof. Alfredas Laurinavičius welcomed all participants, the main project’s actualities were presented by Project manager Wiktor Szydarowski. The first results of Green transport measures and survey “Multi-level governance to better align transport policies” were presented.

In panel Discussion actively participated: Mathias Roos, Region Blekinge  (Sweden), Algirdas Šakalys, EWTCA, Tautginas Sankauskas, LINEKA (Lithuania) and Gintaras Sinkevičius, JSC Lithuanian Railways.

Conclusion of the Panel Discussion were presented by prof.Ramūnas Palšaitis (VGTU) and Dr.Algirdas Šakalys(EWTCA).
