From January of this year, EWTCA partner, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University’s Intermodal Transport and Logistics Competence Centre (executing the functions of the Association’s Secretariat and research centre) begins to perform functions of the institution coordinating implementation of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region in the transport area.

At the same time, EWTCA President Algirdas Šakalys is nominated, as director of the above competence centre, the coordinator of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region in the transport policy area.
