During the ECO Section meeting on 19 May there was an exchange of views on the state of play of the macro-regional strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, this on the eve of the 16th Baltic Development Forum and the 5th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, both taking place in Turku, Finland, on 3-4 June 2014. The participants in the discussion were Mr Axel Rød (DG REGIO), Mr Filip Hamro-Drotz (EESC, Senior Advisor – Confederation of Finnish Industries EK), Mr Algirdas Sakalys (President of the East-West Transport Corridor Association) and Mr Michael Smyth (EESC), who will participate as a speaker during the event in Turku.
